Select the appropriate splint as which finger is to be stabilize index finger with the middle finger is shown in the figure.

Both fingers are to be held together as shown in the figure as buddy splint.

Then apply the palmer piece which gives full protection and stabilization to M.P. joint also of the respective finger.

The splint will differ as per the finger.

e.g. Middle finger with ring finger, ring finger with little finger.
